Nursery provision for 2024-25
Archibald First School offer 15 hours of free nursery provision to children who are aged 3 on or before 31st August 2024. The hours are offered as either Option 1 or Option 2. We also offer Option 3* (full time) for 30 hours per week.
Option 1:
Monday 8.45 – 3.15
Tuesday 8.45 – 3.15
Wednesday 8.45 – 11.30
Option 2:
Wednesday 12.30 – 3.15
Thursday 8.45 – 3.15
Friday 8.45 – 3.15
Option 3 – 30 hours per week:
Monday to Friday: 8.45am – 3.15pm
Option 1 or 2: In applying for and accepting a nursery place at Archibald First School you are entering an agreement to use your initial 15 free hours with Archibald for the entire academic year of 2024-25. Any additional hours taken as part of the free entitlement should be taken with another provider.
*Option 3: For those parents who are eligible for the 30-hour code: In applying for and accepting a nursery place at Archibald First School for 30 hours, you are entering an agreement to use your initial 15 free hours and the additional 15 funded hours with Archibald for the entire academic year of 2024-25.
You also agree to confirm your 30-hour code by the deadline requested by Newcastle City Council or you may either lose your child’s additional 15-hour place or be charged the cost of the nursery place.
Nursery children are asked to bring in a healthy packed lunch from home or pay for a school meal for their 2 full days (£2.10 per day).
Nursery Deadline Dates for 2024
Closing date: Friday 15 March 2024
Offer emails out by post: Friday 22 March 2024
Deadline to accept: Friday 19 April 2024
These dates are confirmed by all schools in the Gosforth Schools Trust. The 2024-25 Nursery application form must be used and returned directly to the school.
Your child’s birth certificate and proof of your home address (dated within the last 3 months) must be shown with the application form.
Visits to Nursery
We would like to invite prospective nursery parents into school for a tour of our Early Years setting and the wider school. These visits are for children starting Nursery in September 2024.
Prospective Parent visits have been scheduled for the following dates and times. Bookings for Nursery Visits can be made from Wednesday 10th January 2024.
Monday 22nd January 4 pm
Wednesday 31st January 9.30 am
Wednesday 7th February 4 pm
Monday 12th February 9.30 am
Thursday 29th February 9.30 am
Tuesday 5th March 4 pm
Monday 11th March 9.30 am
The visits are for adults only and a maximum of two adults per family. These visits are in high demand, we ask that you please inform us, as soon as possible, if you are unable to attend, so your place can be reallocated to someone who is able to attend.
If you would like to book a visit on one of the above dates, please email office@archibaldfirstschool.co.uk with the dates you are able to join us, your contact number and the number of spaces you require (1 or 2). The school admin team will be back in touch with you as soon as possible to confirm if you have a place and on which date.
