Year 1 have been extremely busy lately. Alongside all the Christmas preparations, and learning about significant people from the past, we have managed to visit not one, but two, museums!
On Thursday 28th November, Year 1 visited the Discovery Museum to learn all about George Stephenson and the Rainhill Trials. We demonstrated great teamwork when we had the chance to design and make our very own locomotives! Fran was a super host and helped us hold our very own Discovery Museum Trials! We also enjoyed exploring the museum and carrying out a Scavenger Hunt!
Next we visited the Hatton Gallery to learn all about Roy Litchenstein. We looked closely and from afar at the ben-day dot inspired work. Our host, Jamie, also taught us all about the work the inspired Roy himself! We’re so excited to use what we have learned in our own art work.
