Our Visitors from Germany

2/5/14

We were delighted to host six teachers from our partner school in Newcastle’s  twin town  in Germany,Gelsenkirchen last week.
We were invited to attend a reception with the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress in the Silver Gallery at the civic centre where the teachers were presented with a badge of Newcastle’s coat of arms and enjoyed tea and cake. Also attending were Mrs Jo Chixal, the German consular representative and Dr Eric Wade an expert in the history of our town twinning.

Our visitors also spent some time in class seeing how our school worked and working with children.  They were featured in the Journal and The Evening Chronicle.
We had a group of Irish dancers visit from Central Middle School.

Our visitors then shared with us a presentation about their hometown and school in Gelsenkirchen.  Why not have a look and find out more about our partner school and town?

They also shared a song, which we loved singing .  You can see this in the video.   We have put an extract of the song on our Youtube channel.  Please find the link below.
