A ‘Paw’some Afternoon in Year 1!

30/1/18

Year 1 had a wonderful afternoon yesterday when Eileen visited from ForPaws on Gosforth high street with lots of her fantastic animals.

We got to experience handling giant bunnies, a corn snake, a skink, a baby tortoise, guinea pigs and even a skinny pig!

We learned how to care for each animal, where they live in the wild and how they survive. We learned some really interesting facts like why bunny rabbits have eyes on the side of their head and we learned the difference between a turtle and a tortoise!

Eileen was super impressed with Year 1’s knowledge of classifying animals into groups such as reptiles and mammals as well as our understanding of herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.

Thank you for visiting us ForPaws, we cannot wait to create some ‘How to care for…’ booklets in literacy based on your visit!
