Cullercoats 2016 – another brilliant day out!

21/7/16

What a fabulous day we have all had at Cullercoats Bay. We set off at 9.15 this morning in glorious sunshine to arrive at the beach with the sun still shining. 300 children in caps, t-shirts and unmistakable high visibility  vests headed straight off to the water’s edge or to start digging in the sand.

Year 4 had a competition to see who could dig the largest hole, several children were buried, a group of girls became mermaids and numerous hermit crabs were collected in buckets. As the day went on the children in the water became braver venturing from ankle depth to their knees – a few even sat down (the teachers watched with a careful eye not getting their toes wet)!

Lunch time was a welcome stop and a moment of calm whilst a huge whoop could be heard when the PTFA arrived with the ice lollies.

It was great to see so many families on the beach with us, and we hope you enjoyed it as much as the staff and children. A huge thank you to the parents who supported us with the cones, flags and set up of the beach – we couldn’t do it without you.

Off to pop the date for 2017 into the calendar…

Can you spot the Archibald children…?
